Here at CT Cars we have a real passion for diagnostics, the more complex the better, our technicians are enthusiasts in this area of work and we take great pride in what we do.
Our reception walls are filled with certificates from the constant training courses we attend. All our car technicians are trained to the highest standards to make sure your vehicle is diagnosed accurately and within a reasonable time frame. This will keep the costs down. Instead of guessing and replacing parts that are not required as many other garages do. We have invested heavily in diagnostic equipment, which makes us one of the best equipped garages in the whole country.
Having the ability to use the dealer diagnostic equipment that we have invested in puts us on a level footing with main dealers and gives us the ability to access detailed information like wiring diagrams, repair manuals, manufacturer technical bulletins, security information and digital service history to name a few.
We have Main Dealer tools for Audi, Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda. this means we can do the following:
- Software updates
- Security Work, immobilisers, Keys, Component Protection
This means you don’t ever have to take your Petrol, Diesel or Hybrid vehicle back to the main dealer and pay their unreasonable prices ever again.
The Vehicle Diagnostic Process
Vehicle Diagnostics at CT Cars
Firstly we will need to gather as much information as possible about the fault, this will help us narrow down and replicate the fault saving you time and money, you can do this by explaining on the phone to a service adviser, or if it is a complex fault then you can book a slot to talk to one of our diagnostic technicians or come down and have a chat. We are always happy to take the time to go through everything in as much detail as possible.
Next we will try and replicate the fault, carry out a complete scan of the control modules on your vehicle, check any live data we need access to. We will then create a test plan for all possible causes in order to get your vehicle fixed which would include accessing any technical bulletins and dealer information required. We would then start testing, Which will ultimately enable us to correctly diagnose and confirm the fault or faults.
At the end of the process you will receive a detailed diagnosis report written by the technician explaining all works undertaken.
The Diagnostic machines we use allow us to talk to the vehicle and extract DTC’s Diagnostic Trouble Codes. These codes will relate to a component on the vehicle and will give our technicians a clue as to where the problem lies, they can then carry out checks to the components on the vehicle using equipment such as Picoscope. This means that we can diagnose problems, that other garages may struggle to find.
When it comes to diagnostics, not everyone can diagnose competently. We consistently train our mechanics to carry out our diagnostics to make sure your vehicle is diagnosed accurately within a sensible amount of time. This will keep the costs down instead of guessing and replacing parts that are not required.
