Fuel Injector Testing

At CT Cars we are fully qualified and trained to test and service every petrol fuel injector ever produced for all Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda models. In the ever-increasing demand for fuel efficiency, greener emissions and enhanced engine performance, CT Cars can make sure your petrol fuel injectors are running at optimum performance and diagnose the cause of any problems.

Fuel injector testing and cleaning

At CT Cars, we have a full in-house ASNU system to test and service your Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda petrol fuel injectors. Our system uses high-pressure air and ultrasonic waves to clean the petrol fuel injectors, removing any built-up carbon deposits. Cleaner injectors work more efficiently, giving better performance.

Poorly functioning injectors can lead to engine damage. Our system is designed to test injectors for proper function and diagnose any potential issues. We also offer a wide range of other injector services, including repairs and replacements.

Symptoms that suggest your injectors may need testing:

  • Poor idling
  • Loss of performance
  • Emission problems
  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Low speed hesitation

Why are fuel injectors so important?

Your car’s injectors play a crucial role in the functioning of the engine, delivering a precise amount of fuel directly into the combustion chamber. Over time, however, they can become dirty or blocked, affecting engine performance. If you suspect that your injectors may be dirty or blocked, there are several symptoms to look out for. The most obvious sign is a decrease in engine power, as dirty or blocked injectors will prevent the engine from running at its full potential. You may also notice that your car is consuming more fuel than usual, as the injectors will be unable to deliver the optimal amount of fuel with the correct spray pattern. The car may also produce more emissions than normal, and you may hear strange noises coming from the engine. If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s important to have the problem diagnosed and repaired as soon as possible.

What we do:

Flow Test

This service provides us with a baseline of how the injector is performing prior to a cleaning service and helps determine if Ultrasonic cleaning is required. Each injector will be measured by its volume output in millilitres (ML) to verify even flow. This process will be repeated after an Ultrasonic clean to verify the injectors have been thoroughly cleaned.

Spray Pattern Assessment

Spray Pattern Assessment is when we visually inspect the spray pattern of each injector to verify none of the injectors are clogged at the tip. The spray pattern is an important factor because each style of injector is designed to spray fuel into the cylinder in a specific way based on the application for fuel atomization. Fuel atomization is the process of breaking down fuel into a mist-like spray to prepare it for combustion. If this process is not correct, it could lead to catastrophic engine failure.

Ultrasonic Clean

Ultrasonic cleaning works by the action of cavitation. Cavitation is a phenomenon in which the static pressure of a liquid reduces to below the liquid’s vapour pressure, leading to the formation of small vapor-filled cavities in the liquid. When subjected to higher pressure, these cavities, called bubbles or voids, collapse and generate ultrasonic waves that break loose carbon, dirt, and grime that has built up on the inside and outside most found of the injector tip.
